Public Questions on LinkedIn Answers
You asked
Whenever I post a question, `LinkedIn only lets me do it as a private question. How do I make it public?
The default question is public. But it can made private a few different ways. So it's more a question what NOT to do.
When you submit your question, if you select the option "Only share this question with connections I select," the question will, hmm, only be shared with connections you select. So don't select it.
- 2. Inappropriate public questions.
When you submit your question, you also are asked "Is your question related to recruiting, promoting, and jobseeking?" If you select any of those options, the question will be private. Those types of questions are not appropriate for public LinkedIn Answers use. If your question is indeed related to recruiting, promoting, and jobseeking and you do not indicate that, the question will be made public ... but you also open yourself to having the question flagged. If enough people flag the question, it will be made removed from the public directory. Repeatedly having questions flagged may result in account restriction where your monthly allotment of public question is reduced or even eliminated.
- 3. Account limit and restriction. **
If you exceed your monthly question limit or your account is restricted due to repeated flagging, you can only send private questions at that time.
