I've made it a priority to facilitate online networking with my group DallasBlue. Here is what we do:

  • We have our own LinkedIn group (http://DallasBlue.linkedingroup.com – please join us!
  • We have a few Yahoo online groups for news and discussion and use Google Calendar.
  • We hold LinkedIn seminars and workshops.
  • LinkedIn help and support resources:
  • Better LinkedIn access. I personally connect to many local Linkers to give them access to my huge LinkedIn network.
  • At events. We go beyond the business card by publishing attendee names and email addresses after the event. That way they can easily look up others via their LinkedIn profile and contact or even connect to them. If we have enough people pre-registered, we even do that before the event, so attendees can set appointments at the function.
