Are you "Someone"?

If so, that's not a compliment on LinkedIn. A recent feature is occasionally displayed on your home titled "Who has viewed my profile?" It will contain text like:

Your profile has been viewed by 20+ people in the last 2 weeks.

In the last day, you've appeared in search results 594 times.

See who has viewed your profile

Click on the link and you'll see something like:

Your profile has been viewed by 20+ people in the last 2 weeks, including:

* Someone at OptionMetrics LLC

* Someone in the Business Development function at KuzInk Business Services

* Someone in the Marketing function at Zimride.com

* Director Of Human Resources at Dell

* Manager at Zebra Technologies

* Someone at Magna Systems

* Senior Associate at Heidrick & Struggles

* Someone in the Consumer Electronics industry

* Consultant in the Insurance industry

* Senior Marketing Manager at AOL

* Someone in the Financial Services industry

* Someone in the Information Technology And Services industry

* Someone in the Marketing function at Business and Legal Reports

* Principal Consultant at Telelogic

* Someone in the Marketing And Advertising industry

* Someone in the Telecommunications industry

* Program Manager in the Information Technology And Services industry

* Someone at Not Disclosed

* Someone in the Computer Software industry

* Someone at Berkeley Repertory Theatre

That "Someone" guy seems awfully busy. This data is virtually worthless because the default member setting is to show only anonymous profile info.

Don't you WANT people to find you? If so, be sure to update your LinkedIn setting to show your name. I've actually had a few people contact me because they saw that I had browsed their profile. Change it at https://www.linkedin.com/secure/settings?wvmp= .
