Don't forget your good friend, Google.

Google Advanced Search ( http://www.google.com/advanced_search ): If LinkedIn.com gives errors on profile or Answers searches, try Google Advanced Search. Enter linkedin.com for the domain. It's like searching LinkedIn (for public profiles), but reliable and 100 times faster!

Google Alerts ( http://www.google.com/alerts ): Sure, you can you use Alerts to check when your own company, products, and staff, as well as your competitors, are mentioned on Internet news, web pages, blogs, and groups. You also can use it to check on distribution of your:

• LinkedIn Groups (search for the URL or name if unique)
• Regular and LinkedIn email addresses (you are using a separate LinkedIn address, aren't you?)
• LinkedIn profile (track it through a nonsense word)
